Jay-Z's retirement album — a triumphant goodbye that may be his most personal record, inspiring DJ Danger Mouse's legendary Grey Album.
Released on November 14, 2003, The Black Album was marketed as Jay-Z's retirement album. Featuring production from Kanye West, Timbaland, Rick Rubin, and The Neptunes, it debuted at number one and went triple platinum.
Classic tracks: 99 Problems, Dirt Off Your Shoulder, Encore, and Justify My Thug. DJ Danger Mouse later mashed it with The Beatles' White Album to create the legendary Grey Album.
