If Orange Was a Place (2021) — EP

Tems' second EP cemented her status as one of African music's most compelling voices and led to her career-defining collaboration with Wizkid.

Released on September 15, 2021, If Orange Was a Place is Tems' acclaimed second EP. The five-track project finds her exploring deeper emotional territory while maintaining the alternative R&B sound that defined her debut.

The EP features Crazy Tings, Avoid Things, Vibe Out (with Brent Faiyaz), Replay, and Found (with Brent Faiyaz). Released the same year as her Wizkid collaboration Essence — which became the first Nigerian song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 — the EP rode the wave of her breakout year.

Critically acclaimed, the project showcased her growth as a writer and producer (she co-produces much of her own work). It cemented Tems as a singular voice bridging African music and global alternative R&B.
