Black Panther: The Album (2018) — Kendrick Lamar & TDE
The Marvel-approved album Kendrick curated and executive-produced for the Black Panther film — a cross-genre statement.
Released on February 9, 2018, Black Panther: The Album was curated and executive-produced by Kendrick Lamar and Top Dawg Entertainment for Marvel’s Black Panther film. The album features original songs inspired by the film rather than a traditional score.
Standouts include All the Stars (with SZA — a global hit), King’s Dead (with Jay Rock, Future, and James Blake — Grammy winner), Pray for Me (with The Weeknd), and Big Shot (with Travis Scott). Additional guests include Anderson .Paak, 2 Chainz, and South African artists Sjava and Yugen Blakrok.
The album debuted at number one and won the Grammy for Best Rap Performance for King’s Dead.
